4. Human Player: While their role changes depending on the game, generally the Human Player is the only human allowed to touch game pieces. This may be to move on to the field for robots to collect, or to collect them from robots to score elsewhere.

5. Wild Card Player: This roles changes every year. Sometimes it is a crucial role like an extra human player or role unique and crucial to the game, such as the Piolit in 2017. Other times out a throwaway potion, like in the 2018 Technician. Sure, the Technician was useful, and it was helpful having an extra set of hands set everything up, but teams could have been able to, and did, manage without one.

How is this role determined: May be applied for by any member of the Iron Riders via the General Driveteam Open Application. Final selections will be made in by the end of the second week of build season.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have completed Crowdfunding
  • 27 hours required a minimum for now
  • Recommended that someone considering this role pursues the requirements for a Human Player or Co-Driver as this may end up being like the Pilot in 2017 where the requirements would be made similar to that of the human player, or it could be like the Technician in 2018 and the requirements would become less than one hour.
